American Endurance Racing at NJMP

On November 19th Petrolhead Studios travelled south to briefly visit our friends @TYSPEED as they participated in the 14 Hr Endurance Race hosted by AER. You've probably seen Tyspeed campaign their legendary BMW M2 Hillclimb/ Time Attack Car, which was featured in numerous publications and Youtube outlets, like Hoonigan, Larry Chen's Autofocus, and Evolve Automotive.

The BMW experts continued their motorsport goals as they attempt to expand the limits of their underpowered e36 chassis in endurance racing. They pushed the little m3 for 14 hours straight at high speed, in an effort to show the effectiveness of proper setup, reliability, consistency, and good race craft in this genre. And they did. After 457 Laps and an improvement of 8 positions from start, they finished 2nd in class and 8th overall in a dense 45 car field. The diverse lineup featured factory M4's, v8 swapped e46 M3's, Porsche Caymans, and more.

That being said, while everyone was racing to win, this event gave us a glimpse of how what this sport truly represents. People, comradery, all coming together to try and achieve something greater themselves. Everyone was just happy to be there, pitching in what ever way they could.

It was not hard to see why.

Enjoy this tribute through the (dirty) lens of Petrolhead Studios.
